At Elihu Farm we’re delighted to meet fiber artists, shepherds, and families. Beginners to experts. We raise prize-winning Romney and crossbred sheep in lovely colors on permanently conserved farmland. Our fleeces are exceptional; our sheep strong and beautiful. Visit new baby lambs again. Available: Well prepared raw (entire or partial) fleeces, washed wool, breeding stock, cuts of restaurant quality lamb, and eggscellent eggs. Join the RocDay Guild on Saturday for hand spinning or knitting.

Directions to the farm:
At the light in Schaghticoke, take Route 67 east for 1/4 mile; turn left onto Geary Rd. and follow the signs for 3.7 mi. From Greenwich and Schuylerville, at the intersection of Routes 29 and 40, take Route 40 south. Just past Hudson River Tractor (on right), turn left onto Valley Falls Rd., and follow the signs. Pale green barn on east side of the road.

Join us for some hands-on fun with our 17 friendly alpacas and their luxurious fiber! Learn the basics of wet felting by producing a felted soap, or try your hand at simple weaving with a triangle loom. Visit our farm store to see our handmade items and
alpaca apparel, including our colorful alpaca socks. We have beautiful, 100% alpaca yarn and roving for sale, in both natural colors and our own hand-dyed shades.
Refreshments available.

Directions to the farm:
From Cambridge and east, take NY Rte 372 west, left on Stevenson Rd at base of Schoolhouse Hill, and go 2 mi. to driveway.
From Greenwich and west, take NY Rte 372 east, right on County Rte 60, go 3.3 mi. to Stevenson Rd. Turn left and look for sign.

Free tours of a full-scale commercial mill. Watch while fiber is sorted, washed and picked. See a vintage Davis and Furber carder process roving and learn how a spinning frame makes yarn. Hands-on fiber processing activities for kids. Factory seconds available for purchase. Unique, one of a kind yarns and roving from locally-raised fiber.

From intersection of NYS Routes 29 and 40 in Greenwich (traffic circle), take Rte 40 north 1/10 mi. Mill is on the right.

2020 is our 15th year participating with WCFT and we have new products for you! SOCKS! FINGERLESS MITTS! KNIT BLANKETS! YARN from our farm wool, spun locally at Battenkill Fibers. The public is invited to view shearing on Saturday with Joe Hamilton. Washington County Sheep and Kids 4h club will give demos with wool and fund raising for this year.

Join us for our first year on the Washington County Fiber Tour.  We are excited to share our knowledge of raising sheep for yarn, roving and fleeces. Our flock consists of 10 sheep ranging from fine to medium wool.  We will have yarn, natural and dyed, roving, and fleeces available for sale along with spinning and fiber demonstrations.  Learn how fiber enthusiasts can raise and enjoy sheep and their wonderful products on a small scale. 

Directions: From the North:
Follow State Route 22 South to County Route 64 (just south of Salem at Pizza World). Follow Cnty Rte 64 approx ¾ of a mile and bear Left onto Perry Hill Road. Follow Perry Hill Road for approx 3 ¾ miles.  Farm is on your Right. WCFT signs will be along the route.
From the South:
Follow State Route 22 North to State Route 313 (across from Cambridge Central School). Follow St Rte 313 for approx 7 miles. Look for the Shushan sign and County Route 61. Turn Left onto Cnty Rte 61, follow for approx ½ mile to stop sign just after the Battenkill bridge. Turn Right onto Camden Valley Road and follow for approx 9/10 of a mile. Bear Left at fork onto Perry Hill Road, farm will be on your Left approx. 1/10 of a mile. WCFT signs will be along route.

Visit a working flock of colored and white Angora rabbits. Two fiber arts studios/shops offer, among other articles, luxurious angora/wool yarn and a full range of fibers for hand-spinning including silk, cotton, yak, mohair, etc. Also available are supplies and equipment for spinning, weaving, felting and knitting and a selection of books, magazines, DVDs and finished fiberworks. Ongoing demonstrations both days of bunny clipping, spinning and weaving.

Directions: From intersection of NY Rte 22 and Broadway in Salem (traffic light), go east on East Broadway (Rte 153) 0.6 mi. Farm is on left.

High on a hill overlooking the mountains of Vermont, Quarry Ridge is home to a delightful herd of alpacas, a devoted livestock guard-dog, a faithful barn cat and two friendly farmers. Having bred show quality alpacas for 20 years, we are now concentrating on the fiber component of the business, creating  artful items crafted from the alpacas’ fleece.  We offer fine alpaca yarns and blends, hand-dyed and natural, as well as unique hand-woven and knitted garments.

Directions From the North (Granville), take Route 22 South. Two miles before  the village of Salem, turn left on Quarry Rd. Continue 1/4 mile to  Quarry Ridge Alpacas, #453, on the right.
From the South, take Route 22 North through the village of Salem.  Turn right on Quarry Rd. immediately after the village. Continue 2  miles to Quarry Ridge Alpacas, #453, on the left.

Welcome to Simple Pleasures Yarns, Fiber and Fleece. We are thrilled to be returning to the Washington County Fiber Tour! Our farm has been producing wool and wool blend yarns for over 22 years, using the wool from our small, but mighty, flock of Romney sheep. Once the sheep are shorn, (twice a year) the wool is sorted and sent to the mill. The yarn is left natural or hand-dyed here at the farm. Directions:From Salem( take route 22 north 6.8 miles. Turn left onto Chamberlain Mills rd. We are on the left  side of the road 3 1/2 miles from route 22. From Granville take route 22 south for  9.5 miles. Turn right onto Chamberlain Mills Rd..

Dandy Gander Farm, formerly known as Truthville Fiber Farm, was established in 2015 in North Granville. Within a month, we had chickens and we soon welcomed our first alpacas. We currently have over 40 alpacas, including 4 born during the summer of 2018. They are busy growing their fleeces to be shorn in May. We look forward to welcoming all of our guests this year and introducing you to our menagerie of alpacas, sheep, chickens, geese and ducks.

Directions to the farm: From South, take 22 north through Granville. Turn
right on Route 12A across from Rich Automotive.
From the north, reverse directions, i.e., left onto Route 12a past the Fire House.

Here at Dancing Ewe we specialize in the production of Tuscan-style Pecorino cheese. Our flock of 120 Fresian-cross ewes produces a medium grade fleece used in the production of our wool blankets and wool vests. Woolcraft demos, shearing, plates of macaroni and cheese and glasses of wine will be available both days. Our shop will be open featuring our blankets and vests, our exclusive imported wines and olive oil, other foods and skincare products.

Directions to the farm: From South, take 22 north through Granville. Turn
right on Route 12A across from Rich Automotive. Take the first right onto Route 12. Go over the bridge and turn left, still on 12. 
The farm is one mile on the left.
From the north, reverse directions, i.e., left onto Route 12a past the Fire House.
