From Greenwich, go north on NY Rte 40, right on County Rte 49 in South Argyle, left on County Rte 48 to end, bear right on County Rte 47, and go 0.25 mi. Farm is on left across from Barkley Lake.

You will enjoy our breath-taking view of the hills and lakes while visiting our farm. Our farm store features skeins of yarn in many natural colors; and socks, hats, gloves, and scarves (all made in the USA from alpacas raised in the USA). We sell teddy bears that are so soft they are hard to resist; and we will be giving out free finger puppets for the children.  We hope to offer needle felting again this year; and if we do, materials will be provided to learn the art and supplies will be available to purchase. 

Opportunities for hands-on with the alpacas will be available all day long.  You will learn many aspects about alpacas from their background to how to care for these beautiful creatures.  We love to answer your questions - the more the merrier. We have pet and breeding quality alpacas for sale. If you can't make the Fiber Tour, our farm is open year-round for visits. Just give us a call!

Our friendly animals are ready to welcome you to Haven Hill Farm!  Meet the young and not-so-young alpacas, and feel their super-soft fiber.  Anytime during the weekend, we invite you to learn the basics of wet-felting, and see what beautiful items can be made from this simple technique.  We will also have a loom set up so that everyone can try their hand at weaving.  From 2 to 4 each day, you can watch hand spinning using our homegrown fiber.  If shopping is on your mind, please visit our farm store, the Alpaca Attic, to see a beautiful collection of handmade items, as well as yarns and roving for you to exercise your own creativity!  Our gardens and perennial plant nursery will also be open to visitors, and refreshments are always available.

At the light in Schaghticoke, take Route 67 east for 1/4 mile; turn left onto Geary Rd and follow the signs for 3.7 mi. From Greenwich and Schuylerville, at the intersection of Routes 29 and 40, take Route 40 south. Just past Hudson River Tractor (on right), turn left onto Valley Falls Road, and follow the signs. Green barn on east side of road.

Elihu Farm (a protected forever farm) has been featuring fleece since 1987. Mary and Bob welcome you to meet their Romney and crossbred sheep, which produce exceptionally soft fleeces for hand spinning, and great bodies for tender cuts of lamb. Their white, gray and brown (moorit) sheep and shorn fleeces have won prizes at many fairs and festivals.

See the lovely lambs on display during the Tour, especially the Romneys with unusual colors. Learn how to judge fleeces and prepare them for hand spinning or for show. With their 25 years' experience, Mary and Bob will answer questions about caring for sheep. Available will be selected breeding stock, new 2012 fleeces, 2011 fleeces on sale, cuts of lamb, and fresh eggs.

The Kennedy family invites you to experience the exceptional quality fiber and award-winning breeding stock that our county is becoming known for - here on the Ensign Brook Farm. Fiber Kingdom is housed in a cluster of renovated 18th and 19th century barns which contain a working flock of incredibly fluffy colored and white angora rabbits, spinning and weaving shops, and fiber arts studios. The rabbits have been carefully bred and selected over 25 years for superior fiber production. On-going demonstrations of spinning and weaving - spinners and weavers will be busy plying their crafts through both days. They will eagerly share their enthusiasm with you and answer your questions.

In addition to luxurious Fiber Kingdom angora/wool yarn (which incorporates homegrown angora fiber), the shops contain a full range of fibers for handspinning - ranging from cottons and silks to yak and mohair. Equipment for handweaving, handspinning, and felting, weaving yarns; books and magazines; dyes, and assorted finished fiberworks will also be available.

From the South, take Route 22 North through the village of Salem.  Turn right on Quarry Rd. immediately after the village. Continue 2  miles to Quarry Ridge Alpacas, #453, on the left.

Quarry Ridge is perched high on a hillside with spectacular views of the mountains of Vermont. Bring a picnic and enjoy the day - weather cooperating!

Award-winning alpacas graze in the pastures and young alpacas will be available for your acquaintance. Our Anatolian Shepherd dogs watch over the herd. On-going demonstrations of spinning and dyeing. We will present a discussion on raising alpacas. We are proud sponsors of the Nuñoa Project.

Our farm store features fleece, roving, yarn in natural and dyed colors, and knitted items including alpaca socks, bears, and finger puppets. Designer yarns will be available for purchase along with original patterns and instruction.
